Vietnam revises anti-dumping measures on galvanized steel against China and South Korea

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) of Vietnam has decided to conduct a sunset review of anti-dumping measures on galvanized steel imports from China and South Korea, which will expire in April 2022.

"The investigation authority will comprehensively assess the possibility of imported goods being dumped, and if the anti-loan measures are canceled, the domestic industry will suffer material damage or threaten to material damage," according to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The department has issued anti-loan measures for a period of five years from April 14, 2017 to April 13, 2022 in late March 2017.

The tariff range received by Chinese galvanized steel suppliers is 3.17-38.34%. South Korea’s Pohang Steel Corporation (POSCO) has a tariff of 7.02%, while other exporters in the country’s tariff rate is 19%, learned by MetalExpert. The investigation began in March 2016 as a response to the petitions of Vietnamese companies JSC China Steel Sumikin Vietnam, Ton Phuong Nam Joint Stock Company and Nam Kim Steel Joint Stock Company Ton Dong.
