Chinese hot-dip galvanizing volume greatly exceeds quota at EU ports

 

 

 

 

The new quota period began on April 1, with quotas for 12 product categories from Russia and 5 categories from Belarus being reallocated to other countries as part of the European sanctions.

 

 

The clearance process has not yet started, but customs data has provided information on how many tonnes of steel products are awaiting for allocation. Wherein, China has 165,713 tons of automotive-grade coated sheet (4B) waiting to be allocated, while China's quota is only 117,372 tons. Metal Expert was informed that the quota utilization rate for general industrial hot-dip galvanizing (category 4A) from India is 75% (36,889 tons out of 49,098 tons), and the quota from South Korea is 57% (19,777 tons out of 34,348 tons).

 

 

India's CRC quota has been used up by 57% (85,166 t out of 149,296 t); Turkey's wire rod quota has been used up by 62% (66,673 t out of 107,758 t).
