Announcement of Smooth Operation of 22500KVA Silicon-iron Submerged Arc Furnace Project in Iraq

2017 Nov. 27, Xi'an - Xi'an Tengye Metallurgical Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred as the Company) is pleased to announce that the 22500 KVA Silicon-iron Submerged Arc Furnace Project independently designed and manufactured by the Company has been successfully put into operation in late October.

It is the Phase II Project based in Iraq.

Tengye carried out the first silicon-iron submerged arc furnace project in Iraq as early as in 2009. As of 2017, four projects have been put into operation.

All submerged arc furnaces provided by the Company are ensured with high quality for using the world's advanced technology on a par with the technology owned by SMS Demag AG. The use of three-dimensional modeling is another highlight, which help simulate the on-site installation framework before the design is finalized and equipment assembly is carried out, so as to minimize possible on-site problems concerning installation before shipment.

Practice shows that the operating index of the Phase I 22500 KVA Silicon-iron Submerged Arc Furnace Project is good, and the User has informed us of satisfactory market returns. At the end of 2016, The Company started the Phase II project for the User. Through more than a year of design, construction, installation, commissioning and other work, the project passed the thermal test with all equipment in good condition. Currently, the project has been put into the full production stage. During the project acceptance, the User highly praised the work done by the Company in the aspects of drawing design, equipment purchase, on-site service, etc.

The smooth implementation of the above projects has further strengthened the Company’s influence and competitiveness in Iraq's metallurgical engineering market and has some positive significance for the Company to respond to the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) economic policy of China in the new situation.

Since entering the Iraq market in 2009, Xi'an Tengye Metallurgical Engineering Co., Ltd. has undertaken several projects concerning large ferroalloy electric furnace, electric arc furnace, ladle furnace and others.  As an early participant in Iranian market, the Company now enjoys a good reputation in Iraq’ s metallurgical engineering market with its complete business network and mature market for engineering projects, equipment and spare parts.
